More than 4 thousand people benefited by the My Health…My Responsibility Program during the first half of 2022

The Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, the social arm of Corporación Multi Inversiones – CMI, has been working with young people on education and life projects to strengthen development in Guatemalan communities through the My Health… My Responsibility Program since 2008.

My Health…My Responsibility is a comprehensive training program for young people from 10 to 19 years old that seeks to empower them with tools to make their life plan, strengthen their self-esteem, reinforce their right to say no to risky situations, develop their ability to make informed and responsible decisions, and train their critical thinking through case studies.

During the first half of 2022, Youth Workshops were implemented virtually and in person for 4,223 young people in the areas of San Juan Chamelco, San Juan La Laguna, San Pedro Carchá, Cobán, San Miguel Petapa, San Pedro Carchá, Sanarate, Senahú and Tactic, communities of Escuintla, Guastatoya, Guatemala City and Quetzaltenango.

As part of the expansion and sustainability of the Program, the Foundation generates synergies with public and private organizations, thus amplifying the resources and efforts. The methodology is imparted by teachers and replicators.

To date, 657 teachers from public high schools in Cobán, Lanquin, Purulhá and Senahú have also been trained, with the aim of reaching more young people. In addition, 66 replicators have received the Program’s methodology in the Alta Verapaz area.

Teachers and replicators of the Program are now agents of change in the training process, thus contributing to the development of young Guatemalans.
