Certificacion BASC República Domincana CMI

CMI Foods, the food business group of Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), has reached a significant milestone in the Dominican Republic: ten consecutive years of BASC (Business Alliance for Secure Commerce) certification. This recognition, granted to its Business for Business (B4B) operations—covering both its production plant and port terminal—reaffirms the company’s commitment to security, traceability, and continuous improvement.

The BASC certification validates the implementation of international standards for control and security, both essential elements for operating with transparency and building trust throughout the value chain.

What Does It Mean to Hold BASC Certification for 10 Years?

Earning and maintaining BASC certification over a decade reflects a consistent effort to ensure safe, efficient, and globally compliant processes. In the case of CMI Foods, this achievement has been made possible by:

  • A robust and auditable security management system
  • Practices that strengthen traceability at every stage of the supply chain
  • Reduced logistical and operational risks
  • A culture of continuous improvement embedded throughout the organization
  • Alignment with international standards for secure trade

It is worth noting that CMI Foods is currently the only food industry operation in the Dominican Republic certified at both its production and port facilities.

Leadership, Vision, and Shared Responsibility

This milestone is also the result of collaborative efforts across all CMI Foods teams. The consistent application of the REIR values (Responsibility, Excellence, Integrity, and Respect) has helped cultivate a culture where safety and efficiency go hand in hand. The leadership of Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, Chairman of CMI Foods and Chairman of the Board at Del Real Foods, has played a crucial role in shaping an operational vision focused on innovation, regulatory compliance, and building trust with customers and partners.

This approach translates into a management model that meets the current demands of international trade, promoting sustainable practices with both operational and social impact.
