CMI: Creating Opportunities for Growth and Sustainable Development

CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, has consistently demonstrated its commitment to sustainable development and creating opportunities across the region. During the recent Latin American Cities Conferences, organized by AS/COA and FUNDESA, José González-Campo, Senior Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at CMI, participated in the panel “Investment as a Source of Job Creation and Inclusive Growth.”
In his presentation, González-Campo highlighted CMI’s initiatives and strategies aimed at generating a positive impact on individuals, families, and communities.
People-Centered Approach
González-Campo emphasized the importance of placing people at the heart of any growth and development strategy. “At CMI, people and their shared development are at the core of everything we do,” he stated.
This approach has been decisive in building CMI’s century-long history and positively impacting millions of lives. It aligns with the company’s corporate purpose:
“with family warmth, we create opportunities that change lives.”
One tangible example of this commitment is the 800+ Casa de Pollo Rey outlets and Pollolandia franchises, which offer high-quality products but also create jobs and promote economic inclusion within the communities they serve. These initiatives underline CMI’s dedication to sustainable development and improving the quality of life for people.
Renewable Energy and Sustainability
During the forum, González-Campo also addressed key topics such as renewable energy generation and digitalization. He highlighted the need for increased investment in renewable energy in Guatemala, stating: “Renewable energy is environmentally responsible. In recent years, we have successfully balanced the energy matrix, enhancing its environmental and economic benefits.”
CMI’s Energy Division has been instrumental in advancing this initiative, contributing significantly to environmental sustainability. Investing in renewable energy protects the environment but also drives economic development by creating jobs and improving the region’s energy infrastructure.
Creating Positive Impact
CMI has proven that sustainable development and inclusive growth can be achieved through collaboration and strategic investment. Its initiatives benefit the communities where it operates, serving as a model for other companies striving to combine business success with social and environmental impact.
These strategies, rooted in human and sustainable principles, reflect the leadership vision of CMI’s leaders: Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, Chairman of CMI Foods, and Juan Luis Bosch Gutiérrez, Chairman of CMI Capital.
The forum, organized by AS/COA and FUNDESA, provided a significant platform to showcase CMI’s work and commitment to sustainability. González-Campo’s participation in the panel, moderated by Susan Segal, President and CEO of AS/COA, allowed CMI to share its experiences and achievements with a broader audience, promoting the importance of investment as a driver of inclusive growth.
