CMI Receives the 2025 Bravo Award for Its Multigenerational Legacy

CMI - Premio Bravo 2025

CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, has been honored with the 2025 Bravo Business Legacy Award, presented by the Council of the Americas (COA). This recognition highlights the work of generations who have built a multilatina corporation with significant impact across Latin America and the United States, remaining faithful to its purpose of generating life-changing opportunities with family warmth.

The award was received on October 16, 2025, by Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, Chairman of CMI Foods and Chairman of the Board at Del Real Foods, and Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez, Chairman of CMI Capital, during the 30th anniversary gala of the Bravo Awards in Miami, Florida. The event brought together business leaders, public officials, and representatives of organizations that drive economic and social development in the region.

A History of Vision, Impact, and Commitment

The recognition of CMI’s business legacy is rooted in more than 100 years of history, beginning as a family-owned poultry and milling company in Guatemala and evolving into an organization with operations in 15 countries and more than 50,000 employees.

During his remarks, Juan José Gutiérrez reflected on the corporation’s origins and the influence of its founder:

“Our grandfather, a Spanish immigrant from Asturias, started his business in 1920. He taught us that if the legacy was going to endure, it had to do so through us and no one else.”

That perspective shaped a business model guided by values and purpose:

“From the beginning, we understood that the only real owner of the company is the founder. The rest of us are temporary stewards who must care for, strengthen, and elevate the business.”

Today, CMI comprises more than 3,500 restaurants and points of sale, including more than 140 Pollo Campero locations in the United States, and leads key sectors such as:

  • Food and flour production through CMI Foods
  • Renewable energy, real estate development, and financial services through CMI Capital
  • Social and educational programs led by the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation

A Recognition of Purpose-Driven Leadership

During the award announcement, Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga stated:

“Receiving this recognition is an honor we share with all our employees. It reflects the work of generations who have believed in building businesses with purpose, committed to innovation, sustainability, and the well-being of the communities where we operate.”

The Bravo Business Legacy Award highlights CMI’s contribution to sustainable development and its ability to generate long-term economic and social value. Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez added that the distinction represents “an inspiration to continue strengthening our corporate purpose and to demonstrate that business can achieve lasting impact with commitment and ethics.”

Additionally, the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, the corporation’s social arm, was also recognized for its work in education, health, nutrition, and food security, reaffirming the family legacy and its commitment to human development.

This recognition underscores a business trajectory that combines growth with purpose and a corporate model guided by integrity and social responsibility.
