On June 13th and 14th, 2025, the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation celebrated the graduation of 23 students from its University Scholarship Program at Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG). These graduates are part of a generation that has demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a strong commitment to personal and professional development.
The ceremony honored their perseverance and growth, recognizing them as well-prepared, ethical professionals ready to contribute actively to the country.
Moments That Inspire: Reflections for a Purpose-Driven Life
During the event, Luis Pedro Recinos, Chief Corporate Officer at CMI, delivered an inspiring message to the graduates. He remarked that “values are the juice of life and you get to choose the flavor.” He emphasized that challenges shape us, discipline builds consistency, and hardship drives learning. His closing thought left a lasting impression: “What is it that is transforming you?” a question that encouraged all in attendance to live with passion and gratitude.
Anna Paula de León, a graduate in Business Engineering and class spokesperson, delivered a heartfelt speech that set an emotional tone for the ceremony. Accompanied by Adriana Franco, Rebeca Xitumul, and Leonel Gutiérrez as flag bearers, she reminded her peers that this achievement is not an ending but the beginning of a new chapter, one led with empathy and lived with purpose.
Education with Impact: Investing in Guatemala’s Future
The University Scholarship Program of the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, the social outreach arm of CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, has supported the education of hundreds of young Guatemalans, providing academic, personal, and emotional guidance. The initiative reflects a long-term commitment to education as a driver of both individual transformation and collective progress.
Thanks to the leadership of Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, President of the Foundation, Chairman of CMI Foods, and Chairman of the Board of Del Real Foods, the Foundation continues to fulfill its mission of creating life-changing opportunities. This graduation is a tangible expression of how holistic support, trust, and access to quality education can empower new generations to build a future with lasting impact.
Beyond their academic success, this graduating class embodies the values that define the legacy of the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation. With vision, empathy, and integrity, these 23 new professionals represent a generation ready to lead meaningful change in Guatemala.
