CMI Alimentos, the food business group of CMI (Corporación Multi Inversiones), has been recognized as the Sustainable and Innovative Salvadoran Industry of the Year at the 2025 Regional Congress on Environmental Sustainability (CRESA). Organized by the Salvadoran Association of Industrialists (ASI), the event highlighted the transformative role of CMI Alimentos in the region.

This award is the result of a clear strategy that combines sustainability and innovation to deliver well-being through food in the communities where it operates. Under the leadership of Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, President Chairman of CMI Foods and Chairman of the Board of Del Real Foods, the company has implemented processes that prioritize environmental respect and sustainable economic growth.

Sustainability and Production Efficiency: Measurable Results

The recognition granted to CMI Foods is backed by tangible data reflecting its environmental commitment. Between 2019 and 2023, the corporation prevented the emission of 364,047 metric tons of CO₂ by:

  • Measuring, reducing, and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions
  • Achieving carbon neutral certification for two Salvadoran plants (a flour mill and an animal feed facility)
  • Using enzymes to improve digestibility in animal feed, which reduces the need for raw materials and lowers emissions across the agricultural supply chain

These efforts have positioned CMI as a regional benchmark in responsible and sustainable production, aligned with international sustainability standards.

Being named the Sustainable and Innovative Salvadoran Industry of the Year is more than an accolade—it reflects the impact of a strategy centered on sustainability, efficiency, and innovation. Guided by the leadership of Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, CMI continues to drive regional development by implementing solutions that merge operational excellence with environmental responsibility. Backed by a clear business vision, this approach will keep generating value and well-being in every country where the company operates.
