According to Bloomberg Línea, this list presents the people who generate value in their sectors, and who are helping lead the region towards recovery and a return to normalcy in the context of the second year of the health, economic and social crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was in this context that they recognize Juan José Gutiérrez, Chairman and President of CMI Alimentos, a business group owned by Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), for the value he generates in the region.

CMI is a multi-Latin family corporation founded in Guatemala in 1920 by Juan Bautista Gutiérrez, with a presence in 15 countries and more than 40,000 employees.

Juan José Gutiérrez assumed CMI’s Corporate Presidency in 2011 and he has been leading the growth and expansion strategies of the corporation’s businesses ever since.  Likewise, as of 2018, following a restructuring of the company, he became Chairman of CMI Foods. He is also a director of PRONACA, a leading Ecuadorian company dedicated to the production and distribution of food products.

Previously, he was president of Pollo Campero for 30 years, and in 2005, Newsweek USA featured Juan José Gutiérrez on its cover as one of the “Super CEOs”, naming him one of the “Ten Big Thinkers for Big Business”.
